What's life without amazing girlfriends to laugh with?
I grew up in Louisville, KY and spent 8 out of 9 of the last years of my life living in Lexington, KY where I moved to attend college at UK (GO CATS!). I graduated from UK with a degree in Elementary Education and after spending a semester subbing in Fayette County Public Schools I got my first teaching position as a 5th grade teacher at Garden Springs Elementary. I LOVED my job, and I LOVED my school family. I spent a very happy 3 years teaching there and was sad to see it come to a close (because I was moving to Chicago, duh! ;) ). I saved the best to talk about until last...all during my 8 years of living in Lexington, KY I was a volunteer Young Life leader at a private Christian High School (Lexington Christian Academy, LCA). I hung out and loved on high school girls during my time there. My goal as a YL leader? That the girls that I came in contact with would see Jesus through the ministry (or any aspect of their life) and ultimately desire and seek a personal relationship with Him. In talking about my ministry, I feel as if it's VERY important to tell you about the most important person in my life: Jesus Christ. I believe that apart from Him, I can do nothing (John 15:5). Why do I follow after Christ? Mainly because He came to give me life and to give it to me in its fullest fashion (John 10:10) and so far, my life with Him has been pretty doggone full!

My AWESOME Bible Study in Lexington with my indescribable (in a good way!) leader, Frankie. She is a woman after God's own heart and I'm so thankful that I had the precious time I did with her in Lexington to learn from her and to follow Christ alongside her.
